In my last post, I wrote about how we’re bombarded daily with situations that demand we hurry up, do this, get that, OR ELSE! Ironically, we’re connected in facing these overwhelming phenomena that seem to pull as further and further apart.
We’re also connected by our shared hopes and desires. We all want to be loved and respected. Most of us hope to contribute significantly to those around us. These would be easier to accomplish if we invested the time to get acquainted with one another, one person at a time. Hatred and fear come from failure to recognize the common goals we share, and to value the talents that lie within each individual.
More concretely, we are connected by the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the ground we walk on. We share one, relatively small planet, and the borders we recognize and defend are mostly imaginary. There is no American air, or Chinese water, for example. Air and water move and intermingle all around the Earth, and amazingly quickly.
I’ve barely scratched the surface of this topic. I’m sure you can think of countless other ways in which we’re connected. Could you share one or two below?
