Do the stories of your life have relevance? Yes. I believe they do, in a very significant way!
That's why Wendy and I wrote our book, Equipped to Bless: Finding Relevance in the Stories of Your Life. The stories contained in the original book are true stories of real people who have discovered relevance in their stories, and have shared them so that others might realize they, too, have significant stories. These stories equip us to be a blessing to someone in need of a hug, a kind word, or even some advice. That's also why we wrote the guidebook Equipped to Bless: A Guide for the Journey. We wanted to provide a framework for people to discover their own relevance and their ability to bless others and to provide some insight as to how to comfortably accomplish the task. Both the book and the guidebook are available on Kindle. You can shop here.
So what happens when you search for the relevance of your stories? You find positive meaning in your career, your marriage, or your life in general. You might even find you are already equipped to bless others. Some other results might include enjoyment, satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment, an insight, and maybe healing.
How do you get there from here? By examining your stories for common threads. Here's an example from my life.
Our Action Plan is designed for individuals or groups interested in finding relevance in the stories of life. The plan includes the original book in paperback or eBook for personal enjoyment. A study guide, Equipped to Bless: A Guide for the Journey is available on Kindle. Workshops and talks are available for groups, and are based on our original book, Equipped to Bless: Finding Relevance in the Stories of Your Life.A spiritual overtone fits perfectly with the interfaith community but can also be used by other seekers.
I invite you to follow the Equipped To Bless blog as we examine life together and observe the activity of what we call the Holy Spirit. Wendy and I have both experienced situations which could not have happened without the control of something more powerful than coincidence. You may have another name for it. That's okay. We just want to provide some food for thought which may give you a different perspective and thus a new perception of things.
